The indoor pool, the lounge area both inside and out, and the bistro's food choices. In the morning, it offers Starbuck's coffee and in the evening, it is a full bar.
The fitness room didn't have much in the way of equipment and weights.
Dining off of the lobby was cool. TV's in the booths, very handy, breakfast was good and made fresh and quickly. Also liked the technology in the main lobby. Computers available , a big TV with seating for viewing, a special computer set up to quickly print boarding passed (very convenient), lots of seating for small gatherings. Also, all done with a nice modern décor.
Hallway carpet to rooms seemed old in style, though room was nicely styled.
ok hotel but spacious room! it is a nice place to stay but far away from Umich campus.
It was just like having a home away from home for the four days of the Ann Arbor Art Fair this year. With temps in the 90s each day, we appreciated the full service fridge with ice maker! The buildings were quiet and nicely landscaped - I felt more like I had rented a condo for a few days than like I was staying in a hotel. Now if they would just add soy milk to the breakfast memo, I'd give it another star!
No internet.. at all! = no work done
noisy air conditioning = no sleep
cleaning lady going bold = long black hairs EVERYWHERE !!
staff apologetic, but, but, but = no solution given
Offered a discount = still waiting...
The room had some nice decor. I appreciated the "green" touches.
Where do I begin? I wanted to relax in a bath, but the water would only fill 1/3 of the way. Oh, how relaxing lying in three inches of water!
The big issue: I was over-charged an additional $150. When I called to figure out what was going on, I was told it was the booking site's fault. Repeatedly. I offered to send my reservation confirmation. Then, and only then, was I told they'd find a way to refund my money. And, was again told it wasn't their fault.
The money will take 3-4 days to be refunded.
With no response to a follow-up email asking why they had charged my account a second time, I called the hotel, was accidentally hung up on and then called back. The same manager from before told me repeatedly how busy she'd been all day. I felt like I was a nuisance.
She was kind enough to say she'd look into the root of the problem. And kind enough to suggest I always double-check my room rates when checking in. Even if it's confirmed. First, that's not my job. Second, their mistake is not mine or any other guest's fault. They like to blame anyone else. Even you. Even if they say it sweetly, it's still not right.
Traveler beware. Double check your room rate and your bank account if you stay here.
We were visiting our son for parents weekend. He's in college in Ann Arbor. The hotel was very nice and so was the staff
The price was ridiculous for a Hampton inn, over $300 per night. Fine for a high end luxury hotel, not a Hampton inn
