The location was convenient for our purposes, but there wasn't much to do in the area. If you went out at night there really wasn't anything open. It's the sort of area that closes down after 5 p.m. The staff was friendly and the space was clean. Overall, it was a good value for the money.
The bathroom drain was slow running, but that was the only problem with the room. The location is really better suited for business then for a leisure visit.
Every night my sleep was interrupted by a very loud noise coming from a backing up garbage truck that sounded like a giant alarm clock. Front desk promised but failed to move my room. They also swore that the truck won't be back on my last night of stay, yet once again I was woken up prematurely.
The staff was present, courteous and helpful at all times - a rare treat in a hotel these days!
The beds were awesome and the room was very clean. A very good location at the waterfront. The staff was very accommodating.
The elevator noise was irritating. We thought at first it was the heater but later found out it was the clang of the elevator. The breakfast was fair but the burger we had the night before was great. No other complaints.
I liked the amenities in the room , the coffee served was good and the bed was very comfortable. I liked the jet bathtub in the bathroom.
I didn't like that the room didn't have any Windows to the outside. It only showed Windows to the hallway of the hotel. It was weird because people walking in the hallway could see into our room. The room also had some random stains on the couch and on the wall. I think the room overall was clean but they missed a few spots during cleaning.
Staffer Ali was wonderful
I appreciate the hot breakfast
Love the quiet, spacious suites
Really really appreciate the link with the JCC
Nothing that I can think of
The 2 room suite is great. Have stayed here in the past and it's always immaculate! Nice, comfortable bed/bedding. Quiet. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Great coffee. Very accommodating staff. Always look forward to staying here when we visit family in the area.
There used to be a pond and walking trail behind the hotel with a seat/swing beside it. It was the perfect place to sit and catch your breath. Unfortunately, "progress" has taken its toll and now there is a structure being built there. A walking trail still exists, but the pond is gone. Sometimes change is not for the best.
The breakfast is large and more generous as well as versatile than expected or served at other hotels. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I was in wilmington for a seminal and won't hesitate to stay here again in the future!
Got to this "hotel" at 11:30pm. First I got keys to a room which they also used as storage. After complaining they gave me the keys to a second room. Both beds on the second room had hairs and dirt under the conforter. They told me it was one of the best rooms and if i wanted they could show me other "good rooms". I drove 5 minutes away and paid $25 extra a night and stayed in a Best Western that had free breakfast, a great location and was spotles. Lesson learned. Spend a little more but have a stay in a great place. Do yourself a favor and avoid this super 8.
The good- the staff definitely works hard. Courteous desk staff. Completely clean, no bugs or evidence of bugs, which is more than what I expected, updated, new-looking linens and decor. The TV has a reasonable channel range, and the bed isn't uncomfortable. Water was fine, hot water available and with decent pressure. We didn't eat at the breakfast provided, so I can't comment on it, but I can say that there is an IHOP pretty nearby.
There was an odd smell in the room when we first walked in, sort of chemically, but nothing unbearable. I'd rather smell chemical than something sketchy, and soon we didn't notice it at all. There is some noise from the highway, and I don't know if the couple in the room above ours were over exuberant or the walls are just thin, but I was definitely kept up by their activities. There were some repair issues-the toilet was even but its seat was not because it was missing a piece. There were a few other minor repairs needed.
The staff is trying, the hotel is clean and up to date, the price is reasonable, but I wouldn't want to stay here more than one night. I don't know that I'd stop in again. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great.
