The place was very classy and the staff extremely friendly.
We had to cancel our honeymoon and travel back home because of weather. We stayed here on the drive back to get some rest after a long drive. The room and staff were amazing and very helpful. They made our stay memorable. We will be returning to this hotel again when traveling through town.
The pool and location of the hotel
We had a wonderful stay. Clean comfortable rooms. Parking was a bit of a nightmare. We ended up having to pay for valet parking in order to get our car parked. Parking
The Hampton Inn Downtown Montgomery is an old hotels from the golden era that has been beautifully renovated and updated without doing away with the beauty and charm of a classic hotel. There is a double staircase in the lobby that leads to a balcony that surrounds the lobby on the second floor. The elevators still have the large dials over the doors with a needle that indicates the floor the elevator is on. Just a beautiful place to stay. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and decorated very nicely. They also have a fantastic free breakfast bar with hot food. Nothing! Absolutely nothing to complain about.
Nighttime staff were exceptional
Very friendly staff - big room - wonderful beds and the best free breakfast, with the friendliest person my wife and I have met in the morning on the many hotels we have stayed in.
The staff were very helpful and kind. We ended up having to request a roll-away bed and they were able to accommodate quickly and professionally. We had a corner room with a lot of windows. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was free and had a decent selection of foods. They charge $10 for valet parking, but we were able to find free street parking close to the hotel. The hotel is around the corner from a number of interesting bars and restaurants.
Spacious, well-appointed room Great free breakfast Downtown Historic property Nothing!
This place was very nice. If you like history, staying in something more authentic, this is the place. It's an old building that used to be the Grayson and has been modernized with still some old touches on the inside. We had a great room with a view of the riverfront on one side and on the other a beautiful Greek Revival church. We were on the top floor and were able to sleep with the curtains open. However, there are a few you oughta knows: there was not a fridge in our room. Maybe we could have requested one, but it didn't become an issue until we came back to the room w/leftovers. Also, there's not a tub, only a shower. Wouldn't be an issue, but there was only two small shelves to put all my stuff (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) and no where to set my foot when shaving. This won't stop us from staying there again though if we decide to travel or are passing through Montgomery. Great place!
The staff was incredibly friendly and sweet with my 2 year old son. The breakfast was fun and had tons of options, we loved it. Our room was dirty. I had to look for one of my son's toys and therefore I inspected it thoroughly...under the bed was gross as was in the couch cushions and there was grime on the floor. There were cigarette burns in the couch. The pool was freezing. The hot tub was not properly treated and smelled like body odor and sweat (honestly, it was gross. we got out after a couple minutes and went back to the room to take HOT showers, then spent the next few hours hoping we didn't get skin rashes). The parking lot was full and I had to park across the street in a scary lot a block away and then run back to the hotel at night. Luckily I was told this by another hotel guest who had just found this out on his own. Once I returned I had to get the money I paid for parking refunded...so stupid and the whole process took forever. Overall not run well, totally ruined my trust in Embassy Suites always being a safe bet when we travel.
RIGHT NEXT TO BALL PARK THE BUGS IN ROOM
Great location and great breakfast. Staff handled complaints quickly.. Mold behind nightstand in our first room. Switched to another room, and it was still really humid. $10 to park. Glass shower with no door spray water all over the bathroom.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The lobby area very nice. I didn't like having to pay $10 or $15 extra to park. My reservation with Kayak said parking would cost only $5 a day. I don't think it should have cost anything. Also, the linen on one of the beds was stained.
This is a great location on the river right next to the Entertainment district had to call for maintenance for AC to get fixed first night, it drips from the air return into the room leaving the carpet wet below. The carpet was worn and ragged in this spot. Paint was peeling in the bathroom ceiling, cleaning staff didn't touch room after first night or leave fresh towels. Front desk wa responsive with issues, but these are things that shouldn't happen
Good quality room, breakfast was very good. Clean facilities. Had to pay for parking. Ridiculous to pay that much for room and still have to pay additional fee's to park.
location was best for our reason for being there. some of the staff entered our room and stole money and credit cards. staff didn't seem to care.
The staff were great and very helpful. The room that I booked was a king room and we were out in a regular 2 bed room. When the air came on it smelled like a dirty and mildewed filter. We also ordered in room breakfast. The food was great but it came 40 minutes later than asked.
The suite was very nice and I loved the two tvs. My husband was able to watch sports and I was able to watch movies and other shows. The warm chocolate chip walnut cookies was great.
