This hotel was very clean, comfort and staffs were so kind and gentle. If I have another chance to visit Jerusalem, I'll pick it up for my hotel. You have see a dish of fruits in your room. I enjoyed Al-Watani (?) cafe as well. I can recommend this hotel if you are not Jewish. The only problem of this hotel is location. If you arrive at night, it might be a problem but if you come to hotel in a day time, I don't think it is a serious problem.
Very helpful reception staff. Comfortable room. Parking was provided; something that is not always there even when a Hotel states it is on Booking.com Emptying the bath resulted in the bathroom floor being flooded as the floor drain could not cope and backed up. This was spotted and the draining of the bath regulated to avoid it backing up. Had I not seen the problem the room would have been flooded! Went to breakfast and found virtually every table left in a mess. On leaving the Hotel one hour later, it was still in a mess. Not impressed!
The staff was fantastic. Willing to help out at all times. Fixed our room for us hours early when we arrived in the morning and provided us with cappuccinos! They only complaint I have is that the lighting in the rooms is not bright enough. It actually made packing difficult.
the location: close the Old City, my interest; the staff was really very helpful and welcoming, I love them :) Well, I learned from Palestinians that the rate I got is quite high compared to alike hotels in Jerusalem
Hotel was at an excellent location - only 5 minute walk to Garden Tomb and 10 minute walk from Jerusalem's Old City Demascus gate. Great location for exploring the Old City and Mount of Olives. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast that was included with room was great - lots of variety and high quality. Overall a great value. Would stay there again on a future trip to Jerusalem's Old City. Had difficulty accessing free wi-fi from room and lobby. But hotel had a small business center and was able to use their computers to get internet accesss.
the hospitality and friendship of the staff was excellent, the location and cleanliness perfect
The staff is absolutely wonderful, very accomdating, helpful, and all-around hospitable. The location is great for exploring the Old City/Mount of Olives region. The downstairs restaurant serves excellent food and our balcony room was nice for a relaxing evening coffee. Overall, I really miss this place... we were made to feel like family. The carpet could be a bit cleaner, but otherwise, no complaints at all.
10 minutes /non hilly walk to Old Jerusalem. Khalil front desk was very, polite, friendly, caring, a gentelman and helpful, he explain about what to expect in Jerusalem/Israel, about the people, the environment, etc. He also assisted and allow me to use the hotel computer when I needed to cancel Hotel & Tour reservations and contact my daughter in U.S.A. when my cell phone failed on me. Hotel is okay if your on a Budget. Khalil/front desk was the only one who speaks good English, understood what your talking about. We had to wait untill he comes to work for any assitance. Airconditiong was noisy and it did not work. Balcony /glass door which we had to open to get air in without a screen/ bugs will come in. Carpet was dirty/dusty, they should tile the floors instead. They need to free up space infront of the Hotel so guest are able to unload there luggage or get out safely instead of being rushed. By a string of cars. The community area is full of rubbish on the ground/noisy/loud music/yelling etc. The hotel is located in a Plastine area which was never mention in your site.
Excellet setting, friendly staff, big room, no street noise, beer available Nem
Very helpful staff Felt very basic
Very friendly staff, low price and they were actually able to cater to my unashamed cigarette habit :) They didn't have the right socket adaptor for my uk chargers, television only had three English-speaking channels (the rest were Arabic) and the bathroom water could have done with more heat.
Very close to Damascus gate, and the real life experience of east Jerusalem. But may be not for everyone. It was clean enough. Hospitable staff.. For the money, it was fair, however could use major updating with the a/c, the toilets, door locks. Crazy noisy, but we knew we were on a major street in east Jerusalem.
Very kind staff, always wishful to help. Great breakfast: tasty fresh vegetables, Chef makes excellent Hummus - I was skipping the lunch so I had more time to visit the city. (Old city is only a couple of minutes walk away.) Large, bright rooms with powerful air-conditioner, very appreciated in August. Very calm at night. (Vivid nightlife is 5min walk away.) Guarded parking is next to hotel, open from 06am to 11pm. Wireless internet sometimes slow, but they let me use their cable- connected pc when needed. Furniture rather old, but clean.
Note that we stayed at this hotel in the muslim quarter during Ramadan, so we were one of only two groups in the otherwise empty, large hotel. That said, the staff treated us like house-guests and we even made friends through the language barrier. Very close to the city walls. The first two nights we got little sleep as a rooster would crow for hours all morning, starting at 4am. We asked to move rooms to the other side of the hotel and this made a big difference. The air conditioning was not individually controlled as the page says, but central, and was turned off (probably since the hotel was all but empty due to Ramadan), but the nights were cool enough to sleep.
The hotel was in East Jerusalem and in the muslim part of town. Only 5 minutes walk to the nearest old City gate, 10 to Damascus. If we came home later than midnight the doors would be locked but the guy who was asleep on the sofa was hillarious! He didn't speak any English but would gesture to his watch and laugh and give us hugs so had no problem with us coming home late. We also had a bird nesting on our window sil! It was not the luxury accomodation it said it was. Basic rooms, hot water and air con (just like a fan really) only put on in the mornings and evenings. Basic breakfast, nothing special. I thought it was expensive for what it was but then others felt it was cheap and you get what you pay for.
Staff very nice, Breakfast very good, bar and recepcion new, 5 min to Damasc Gate. Room and toilet old, no Air condicioned (or crash), outsides unclean.
Good location, not expensive
Hotel is in a great location, two minute walk to the nearest gate to the old city, if you want to spend leisure time in your room this is not the place for you. It's basic, clean always felt secure and the staff were really helpful.
Good location fair brekfast
cordiality and cleaness
they are sincerely trying to provide good service no credit card - only cash. but if you make a row about it you can get discount 10%:-)
The location of the hotel is excellent. Quality of free internet is perfect. Stuff serves you giving you a feeling that it's not their job to do any thing for you. They clean your room if they feel like; otherwise it's not their problem that you don't have a clean towel. Even if they clean they do not use the vacuum cleaner, so the ground stays always dirty. The hotel is very old and not repaired for a long time, all walls and carpets are dirty, the bathroom is disgusting. Usually there is no hot water. The breakfast is from 7 till 9 (!!!!). Have you ever seen a traveller that is willing to wake up before 9? It's my vacation and I'm not supposed to rush for a cup of coffee in the morning. The quality of the breakfast is very bad: tomato, cucumber, sweet pepper, one type of the bad quality of cheese and ham.
