Room is big, nice. The smell from toilet, though it is clean but smell not gone.
The hotel had no record of my confirmed and paid booking when I arrived. I showed them my confirmation and payment record, and after puzzling over it for an hour they shuttled me to their "resort" far out of town without apology. I was put in what must have been an overflow room that smelled like sewage. They refused to offer any refund and said that I had to take it up with the website. I was stranded there and forced to eat at the overpriced resort restaurant because it was late and there was no way back. The next morning, after a long wait, I was moved back to a room at the main hotel, again without apology. The room I was placed in was entirely average and the internet did not work. Luang Prabang is a lovely city, but I lost half of my two days there dealing with this hotel and its incompetent staff. Location is the only upside, but there are plenty of lovely looking guesthouses in town that I have no doubt would offer a superior experience for 1/4 the price.
Traditionally styled hotel in keeping with the old quarter. Very well located to walk anywhere in central Luang Prabang and very nice breakfasts. It is more of a guest house/inn than a hotel which gives it a lovely family feel. Staff are really lovely. For the relatively high rate paid, one would expect more toiletries provided (there is only hand soap in the bathroom) and more extensive wifi reception in the building. Insects wandering around are a reality in any place in this part of world - a communal can of RAID would have helped. Not a big deal.
