None Internet booking - not good at all. The fact that you have to climb steps wherever you go. We have to ask for help/assistance with our luggage. As for the advert, the hotel was within walking distance from the beach - not true.
The setting overlooking the lagoon was wonderful and the service of our waiter during our evening meal was exceptional.
location of hotel service was poor at restaurant and bar receptionist did not take my credit card at check in and checkout.as a result i left with the bill unpaid
Nice breakfast. Room looked out on parking lot, no window and therefore poor ventilation, TV in initial room defective, only 1 towel in room, restaurant smelled musty and carpets grubby, building operations irritating (workers shouting, machinery, etc)
i liked the pub, staff were great and the food was good. the fact that the advertised 24 hour room service does not exist, the front of house staff never answer the phone, the guests in the other rooms make to much noise to sleep.
Attitude from staff who are unhelpful is regrettable. The recommnedation below is subject to this

Nice view of ocean. Ideal location Hotel staff do not knock on the door on 2 occasions and just walk inside room. No bar fridge inside room - extremely hot conditions in East London and I walked down to reception area to find out if I could purchase cooldrink/water/ice blocks - nothing available after hours at hotel. I was asked to ask at hotel next door - also could not find anything to drink - so went back to bed drinking warm tap water. Check-out time is 11H00 - so staff knocked on door at 10H55 - No hallo - just a few rude words - are you going or staying an extra night. Just wish staff would be more friendly towards customers.
The friendliness of the Room Service staff. We were stuck in a pokey little room (called a "suite" on the website) overlooking a construction site. The sheets did not fit the two beds that had been pushed together, the furniture was grubby and stained, there was no mini bar, and the staff tried to make us pay for one of the breakfasts twice. Certainly not a hotel for families wanting to spend their hard-earned money on a beach view.

Helpfulness of staff
The staffwere incredible and the rooms were very nice. Great area for watching tv and movies with a wonderful movie library. Felt like a nice condo common to Mission Bay, San Diego. Cleaning staff would pretty much force you out of your room so they could clean it. Sometimes very early like 9am. So much for sleeping in on a relaxing vacation.

Good welcome and tour of the facility. Room very comfortable. Staff very friendly and the breakfast something fit for a king. A suggestion - put tea in the room - not everybody drinks coffee and perhaps supply tissues in the room.

Very,very nice place to stay on your way or to come to explore Eastern Cape or Wild cost. Lowly, friendly place with satelite and free internet, the owners are ready to help to solve any "road problems", so, highly reccomend this accomodation for anybody who explore this part of South Africa. The room facilities in the Huberta Lodge were excellent. Breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant were excellent with a view over the watering hole with the prospect of spotting hippos. Add in an early morning drive through the Reserve looking for Big 5 animals and it is definitely an experience to savour and super value for money. Nothing - we visited in June so the mosquitoes were not prevalant. I imagine this might be an issue at other times of the year.
The staff really exceeded our expectations by being very hospital and easy going. The room featured a full fletched jacuzi and the beds were the best ones we had during our entire holiday. The game park was beautiful and the kids loved the 'pet' area

Dinner The room (224) had a terrible smell and toilet leaking. This was brought to the staff at reception for an alternative room to no avail. I had to sacrifice and stay in that room for the duration of my stay.
The food was very good and plentiful. Hotel staff were helpful and professional and efficient. The security personal in charge of the secure parking not up to standard. after reserving an under cover parking with different security guards on both nights we returne to the hotel to find that the parkings were given to other people.
