Beautiful hotel, the rooms are very spacious, clean and calm. The tagine we had was amazing, the best we had during our trip, made especially for us, taken in the library, was a real treat! Nice roof terrace. Very helpful staff, always there for you. Really good address, to be recommended. The room we had didn't have a window in the bathroom, which was a shame.
This was a beautiful and comfortable riad. It was just a few streets off the main action so nice and quiet. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was comfortable and quiet. The terrace on the roof is beautiful and has good views. Breakfast can be served on the terrace and was very good. The riad style of the hotel makes it noisy at times. There were children staying in other rooms and were quite loud in the mornings. They only left us one towel for two people but provided a second on request. The desk staff was highly variable in english understanding so knowing a bit of french was very helpful.
Very cosy hotel with great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Beautiful roof terrace. Good to know that not all room have exterior window but a window facing the patio. And no tv. Not at all a problem to us.
the riad was beautiful with a fabulous roof terrace. The room was lovely and the staff could not have been more helpful. We were looking for a relaxing break in stylish surroundings and we couldn't have been happier. Les Terrasses d'Essaouira was an oasis of charm in the midst of the bustle of the medina. Location was superb as it is located close to the sea wall and surrounded by many eateries within short walking distance. We had not had the riad experience before and I couldn't fault this one. Nothing to moan about.
location was excellent and roof terrace had great views Place felt dated, dark, unloved and creepy. The staff were helpful but not friendly. Breakfast was basic but good.
Outstanding terrace on the roof top, very nice breakfast and lovely colonial patio at the entrance.
delightful staff--good value
we had a chambre vue medina but there was no vue at all. a huge concrete wall was put up in front of us, a new hotel probably. yet they advertised this room as a room vue medina. i think that is 'inadmissible' we had a chambre vue medina but there was no vue at all. a huge concrete wall was put up in front of us, a new hotel probably. yet they advertised this room as a room vue medina. i think that is 'inadmissible'as we paid for a room with a vue. in addiiton there were work people constantly in front of us and my daugher and I could never ever sit on the balcony. really horrible
we liked the location, the facility of the private beach We did think the breakfast was value for money, poor choice of cheese, the orange juice was not fresh. The decor of the bedroom a bit old fashion, the spa has not atmosphere compared to other similar hotel
I appreciated the welcome and service in the room. The private beach is well cared for and the pool is functional. Hotels on to expectations.
Spacious room. Good aircon. Large comfortable bed. Excellent location. Good pool. Polite and helpful staff. We had a very comfortable stay.. Appearance of bathroom a litle tired and shower not quite hot enough.
Good hotel. Location very good; service very good and friendly. Special attention for our anniversary without asking. Try to have a rrom with an ocean view. It is worth the price.
The local Moroccan restaurant The haughtiness and unfriendliness of the check in desk staff, manager included
Definitely not suitable for a muslim family.
The location was excellent, the rooms were clean. Compared with most places, its a little expensive; however this seem to be the trend in morocco as a whole.
The Swimming pool was amazing and the room had a lovely balcony facing onto the pool. The cleaning staff were also very helpful and friendly The breakfast costing 18 euro was very expensive. Also when we arrived we were never told about any of the facilities or restaurants which we had to find out for ourselves
Central swimming pool and location to the beach
Hotel and staff were so friendly. Really chiiled enviroment. Our room was fabulous with and amazing bath sprinkled with rose petals and candles! Totally would recomend and go back.
Great food, beautiful rooms and very friendly and nice staff. Everyday freshly made cake and bread fpr breakfast. The bathroom is only separated by a curtain from the rest of the room.
An amazing hotel - beautiful rooms beyond expectations, great staff, good breakfasts. the highlight of our trip to Morroco.
We were greeted by a member of staff who told us everything we needed to know about Essaouira, including a tip for the best restaurant in town - Elizir. We stayed in 2 different rooms - Berber & Hayate. Both were very clean and nicely decorated, Hayate has the biggest bath you've ever seen, almost a swimming pool. Breakfast was fantastic, even included cake!
the room and staff
Jean Gabriel, the owner spent an entire afternoon with me doing an art tour of the old Medina. Wow, what an amazing service! Lovely Riad.
great service, great rooms, great food, great location!
It's without any doubt one of the best places we have ever been. It's the unique combination of the nice Ryad located in a former school, the spacious, well designed and nicely decorated rooms, the roof terrace for breakfast and relaxing, but overall the very kind and helpfull staff. These people really understand how to run a hotel with a completely natural friendliness. Truly exceptional.
It was the most friendly, helpful place we stayed at and we will go back. We were upgraded to a better room. A cosy intimate dining room with good food for a night in. An artists paradise. A real gem of a place. We liked everything
The staff and owner were really welcoming and helpful and we loved the design of the riad and the decor of the rooms. Breakfast on the terrace was great and one night we ate dinner in the riad which was lovely. Nothing
The Riad was very central, fabulously comfortable and the staff excellent. Jean Gabrielle was very accomodating. Cant recommend this enough. Great library too! Nothing to dislike!
The sea breeze fish restaurants port lack of hassle from locals
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Beautiful and big rooms.Homely atmosphere. Meals delicious! You will probably not find a better place in Essaouira! Thanks a lot to the host Jean Gabriel.
The hotel was well presented, basic and very clean. The breakfast was good - standard Moroccan fare. It is a little too far out - 15mins walking but there is nothing around it so to do anything we needed to walk to the medina. On that basis we stayed only one night. We also managed to get a beautiful hotel in town for very little difference in price so we felt as though we paid too much in the end.
We had a gorgeous, gorgeous time here over three nights. We stayed in the Pasha, on the terrace, and every morning opened the shutters directly to the sky and the sea. The ginormous bathtub was a real treat, too. Breakfast served on the terrace was a delight -- we had a hard time tearing ourselves away to go explore the medina. Christine and her team are warm and welcoming, were always on hand to give directions and make restaurant reservations, and I'm sure if we had more demands they would have done their best to help. As it was, we were so blissed out we couldn't ask for more!
Impressive location with extensive views over coast. Hotel was peaceful and attractively decorated and furnished. Staff were discreet and friendly. Special mention for manager Crystelle who was excellent - she was charming and always ready to advise and help.
The room had nice decor, and the roof terrace had a good view. There were extensive building works at the entrance, and audible most of the day. The room was very expensive for what it was. The hotel itself had a sterile feel to it.
The location of the hotel could not be faulted. I feel the place could do with an upgrade: it is living off its former glory. Breakfast on the terrace was spoilt by flies and wasps. The staff were (politely) in your face about booking restaurants (every time we saw them). The hotel was overpriced for its quality compared to a cheaper better riad we stayed in in Marrakech.
Everyone was very nice and helpful. It was like staying in someones own home. I am allergic to cats and they are roaming everwhere. Unfortunately, it is not just this hotel. It is the whole country. I should have known that.
Management and Staff were excellent and the views from the roof Terrace amazing. Building work going on especially when communal staircase used. Rubble etc in the alley way.
very good overall. swimming pool with turtles, nice breakfast and dinner with a bar. very close to sea
The staff were extremely friendly, and we went with our 20 month old child and couldn't have picked a better place for that. Very child friendly. Also very relaxed atmosphere, especially in the evening when enjoying a nice meal and lovely Moroccan wine. These are very minor points compared with the overal excellence. Breakfast was good but a bit carb based, and the pool was colder than ideal.
We found the staff and owners of this Riad to be most helpfull, friendly and welcoming. The facillities were good and the location close to the beach and within easy walk of the old town excellent. This small family run hotel offers a calm and relaxing experience. The only area of comment would be we found the beds to be "firmer" as in hard, when compared with those found in European hotels, but probably this reflects the very "local" nature of the hotel.
The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The facitlities were great and the breakfasts and evening meals were excellent.
A very nice Riad with a beautifully laid out reception area. Central staircase, plants, paintings etc. Very large rooms that were clean & well kept. The pool was a decent size & all the more interesting because of the resident two turtles & eight or so tortoises that patrolled the surrounding area. Adequate breakfasts (continental) although slightly heavy on the bread side! The riad is about a 15-20 minute stroll along the sea front to the medina. Very pleasant as this allows your dinner to settle on the return plus you have a quiet night. A lovely place to stay! The water supply to the shower was patchy in late afternoon but having said that new water tanks were installed while we were there. The approach road/alley to the Riad leaves something to be desired but then again that's Morocco for you!
lovely house and very friendly owners
Stayed in Riad Zahra for a week last week! Couldnt fault this place at all! Was amazing! Welcomed by friedndly staff members, who were extremely helpful and also spoke good english! Riad was at the end of the beach, about a 20 minute walk from the medina, which we found very nice in the evening to walk off diner and a nice break from being in the busy medina! Room was very comfy, breakfast in the morning was good, continental - bread, pain au chocolate, fresh orange and coffee!! Swimming pool was much appreciated a nice break from the midday sun! Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting!! No!
Well located for kitesurfing!
Swimming Pool and location of the hotel The room was dense and the bed was extremely hard
Quiet and nice pool (with turtles!)
Found staff very helpful and polite and made us feel very welcome
The staff at Dar Assalama are amazing! Omar and the other 3 staff couldn't be friendlier, warmer or more accommodating. They really made our stay something special and nothing was too much trouble. They were always offering to make us mint tea, how we were that day, what we had done or if there was anything they could do to help us. The room was spacious, simple and nicely decorated. The lounge and central patio are very attractively decorated and comfortable to sit, relax and just enjoy a cup of tea. A French style breakfast (with Moroccan influence) on the roof terrace was a lovely way to start each day. The Riad is very well located as well. I highly recommend this Riad and doubt you could get better value for money in Essaouira
Principally, the staff- comprising the manager and his assistant- were excellent throughout. They were attentive, went well out of there way to help in any matter. e.g., they kept in contact with us prior to our arrival and met us from the bus we arrived on; when I got a stomach bug on the day we left they were happy top let us stay late in the room and even provided special food for a sore belly. They could not have done more. Very new, nicely designed interior, and extremely clean. Excellent terrace. The kitchen is open use so you can shop and cook yourself, which is an excellent touch- especially for those with kids or on a budget. I would recommend that the hotel gets one or two desktop computers for guest use- saves the effort of sitting in a generally unpleasant room in an internet cafe up the street.
Staff very courteous and helpful. Riad very clean and comfortable. Perfect location. Nothing
First of all the staff was fantastic-they did their upmost best to accomondate our every need(welcomed us with some mint tea, explaind where everything was and told us to feel like at home)-very friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The location was a spot on as everything was easily accesible by foot. The breakfast could improve a bit but great other than that.
The owners were very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was great, the room was very nice! The bed was a bit uncomfortable (pilows not soft enough)
great place! great welcome! wish i was there right now! amazing city!thanks !
A taxi transfer was arranged for me and I was met at the entrance to the medina at a very early hour which was very kind. Lovely breakfast and decor. Medina map and information also provided.
Very nice and friendly staff. Good location. Nice roof terrace where you could catch the sun and view the ocean. Inisde the old part but within close walking distance from the ocean. The rooms are a bit dark and there are no windows facing the exterior.
Excellent staff and lovely clean, big rooms. Highly recommend.
Nice hotel, friendly staff, good location, good price for location. Recormended for 1-2 nights no more. If you like your peace and quite try and opt for the appartment situated off the roof terrace.
The girl of the reception was nice. The only yhings where that she brings some friends in for the free internet. It makes it a bit studentlike. There was no good ventilation in the hotel. Our bed was really wet and everything smells like mushrooms, the carpets, the pillows brrrr. The floor was really dirty everywhere. At the end we slept at the roof, with all our clothes on. Wich was at the terras wich looks out on the sea but also on the old houses around with a lot of garbage. We got breakfast on the sofa where just the night porter was asleep. I will never recommend this studenthouse.
The terrace and the view from it was great. The staff was friendly. I got another coffee each morning. The entrance to the hostel were two wooden planks across a puddle in a very dirty street. This was like being on a building site. There was rubbish everywhere on the street. The room wasn't really clean and it smelled mouldy. The price was above average.
Everything. But we found the staff amazing. They acted like friends rather than staff making us feel comfortable from the minute we walked in the door. We were really sad to leave. The rooms were perfect and breakfast on the terrace great. fantastic value for money. But back to the staff, Lamya, Hisham and Layla- amazing! Would go back in a flash!
The location was good and the staff were very friendly. Room was cleaned frequently. The room did not have any bathroom door or external windows, conseqently it smelt and felt damp.
