Fantastic garden and situation of the property outside on Sirmione
We stayed in a junior suite which on the whole was very nice. The gourmet restaurant was very good, if expensive. The hotel was very peaceful and staff very friendly. Main drawback was the bed being hard and uncomfortable which we were not expecting from a luxury hotel. The bathroom was large with both a shower and a bath, but only one sink so you could not both get ready together which I might have expected from a junior suite. Be careful that this hotel is on the top of a steep hill which may be difficult for some people to access.
We liked the Concierge, the grounds, the history, the natural beauty, location, The hotel was rundown, antiquated infrastructure ( not 5 Star!!!) -plumbing, electrical, telephone, .. This does deserve a five star rating based on services and facilities. It has a very depressing feel to it as though it was an dowdy relic of the past not suited to modern travelers'needs.
Hotel setting and grounds beautiful. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Lovely hotel with first class location. a real experience.
Access to the hotel is difficult with many pedestrians on your way
Position was fantastic. staff very attentive. Good food. Walls slightly too thin. Can hear noisy neighbours at night
Very helpful staff at reception desk. Wonderful location overlooking Lake Garda and just a few minutes walk into the hustle and bustle of Sirmione. A lovely place to stay. Can't understand all the complaints on Booking.com about the sparrows - it's not hard to share a crumb or two with them! Personally, we found women/men walking round the hotel carrying their lap dogs more of a concern !!
Very nice room, beautiful lake and mountain view, the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful but not intrusive.
The hotel staff were absolutely fantastic and more than helpful. I am coeliac and had brought food for my breakfast and they were very happy to prepare this every morning for me. The pool area and loungers and view of the lake from the sitting out area was beautiful. We really had a relaxing stay. The only thing was the drinks in the hotel were a bit expensive but we partly guessed that they would be as we were not booking it as a backpackers stopover.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Lovely, friendly staff and so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfasts were fantastic! The rooms were nice although maybe a little bland!
We really enjoyed our time at the Hotel Continental. The location was great a 2 minute walk to the town. So not as noisey as the hotels in the centre. The service and staff were friendly and very helpful. Would go back again.
Everything was wonderfull, magical hotel in the most beutifull town.
Location good, staff very helpful.
Good variety for breakfast. It was nice to have a pool although it was nothing special. Location was good. The room, particularly the bathroom desparately needed modernising. The quality of the furnishings and bathroom equipment was very cheap and it was like something from the 1960s. The bathroom was also tiny. I could not use my own hairdryer as when I did it tripped the electricity! The staff were also on the whole really grumpy and unfriendly with the exception of one or two people. In general I would not recommend this hotel and it certainly was not a 3*!
The hotel location is good, easy walking distance to the old town. The reception staff were not very friendly, the room was small and not clean. We asked for an iron, which took forever to find, there was no ironing board. The iron was very old and the lead had been repaired 4 times and was held together with tape. I felt it was very expensive for a 3 star hotel, 95 euros per night.
I highly recommend the hotel. We stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is small and rather charming; the non-suite rooms are in pastel colours - there is some charm in it. The service is professional and kind.We found the price to be good value for money.
the staff couldnt be nicer very helpful in all the departments. the siting and dining areas were beautifully done out. I would like ro have had tea making facilities in the room
The nquiet, beautiful surroundings. the bright and cheery breakfat room,
The location was perfect, just a short walk into town. The management were great and couldnt help enough. The breakfast was well worth getting up for with an amazng view of the lake. The selection was excellent and hot breakfast cooked on request, will definately book again. Nothing
Very nice and plesant hotel. very kind staff
Fabulous hotel with marvelous garden and lovely swimming pool, amazing lake view and surrounding. It is on the short walk distance to the very nice Old town Sirmione. Buffet breakfast is delicious and stuff is very helpful. Shortly, this is probably the best 3-star hotel in the Europe! We will come again, for sure!
The location in Sirmione is perfect and the hotel grounds are beautiful. The rooms are a little dated with old furniture and some bizarre "artwork," but clean and somewhat charming. Overall the hotel is in good shape with a lovely pool area, nice private balconies and magnificent views of the lake. The breakfast was delicious. The owners. I think they have simply been in the business too long and forgotten customer service. They are rude and unfriendly. They should sell the place to someone who actually likes people. Despite the great location, facitilites, views, pool, etc., I would not return simply because there are other great hotels where the owners treat the guests like they are welcome and not a burden.
The owners and the staff extremely polite and hospitable. The room met our expectations since we travelled with two small children (we stayed in a family room).
Friendlyness and clean
Beautiful area. The hotel is exactly in the middle of the old town.Really enjoyed it.I will surely go there again.
Loved this hotel. The hotel was in an excellent location. The owners were very friendly and helpful with any enquiries, nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel was clean and well looked after, would definitely return. The only down side to this hotel was that the bed was extremely hard. This slight negative would not put me off returning to this hotel
Small decent hotel in the middle of the historical centre. A bit complicated access by car. Wide choice of restastaurants nearby.
Staff very friendly. Breakfast OK. Air conditioning. The traffic in town is restricted but free parking in the hotel (if you can reach it without knocking somebody down!).
Central location, friendly family atmosphere with very helpful and nice owners, very close to the beach/lake. A bit tortuous to get to the hotel since had to drive through small paved roads full of pedestrians. However, this was well worth it to have such a central location in the middle of the town and just a few yards away from the lake. Also, owners let us park directly outside the hotel, free of charge!
The old city is just an excellent spot on planet earth.
nice staff especially a croatia native lady.location convenient for both car/bus travellers.own parking some outside noise my happen on weekends(leaving people loosening emotions in bars)
The location is fantastic and the owners are amazingly friendly.
The hotel is located on Lake Garda and area is very touristy. The rooms were clean and quiet, although the lighting in the room could be better. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to help us with directions and restaurant ideas. This is a very busy resort area with lots of people.
friendly staff and excelent location
The personnel was affable. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. We liked this hotel. Очень милый домашний отель. Комната маленькая, но уютная. Парковка бесплатная.
Very well located, the breakfast was very good and the owner is very nice. Mattress and pillows were not very confortable. Lack of internet access in the hotel is an issue. There is a good internet connection provided by the hotel but in the cafe in front of the hotel.
staff, excelent location inside the walls simple room, comfort of the beds
Great location with wonderful lake view, very friendy staff, very clean room, cleaned twice a day, great coffee for breakfast. Very quite. great swimming pool. The room was not spacious enough for 4 ppl, there was no fridge in the room, but brought on request. Breakfast was ok: cold buffet ok for short stay but not for 8 days, missing hot dishes and vegatables.
The staff The breakfast was very poor there was no eggs ...
The location was very nice to watch the sunset over lake Garda. This hotel is not a 4* hotel as advertised on bookings.com and also claimed by the hotel. The hotels staff were very rude on arrival and there was certainly no 'service with a smile' as you would expect from a 4* hotel. The decor of the hotel was also very dated.
Room was ok. The attitude of the staff was extremely unfriendly and at times very rude. So much so that we cut short our stay from 7 nights to 2! The elderly lady who appeared to be in charge seemed to be looking for an excuse to criticise and remostrate with the guests. Breakfast was poor accompanied by poor service. Terrible, absolutely terrible. Aircon in room did not work properly. There was a power cut one night, when this was reported to staff they intimated it was our fault ? they then pointed out that there was a power cut to every room in the hotel - this was not right - all other rooms had their lights on ?
The staff were freindly and helpful.the hotel was very clean and had all the basic hotel facilities. The swimming pool and poolside area were lovely to relax by. The hotel is located beside a stunning viewing point. The breakfast had a poor selection and there were many many wasps in the fruit salad.
Beautiful hotel gardens and pool with fantastic views over the lake.
Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Very accomodating to special wishes. Good service. Excellent and relaxing outdoor area for sitting, swimming, cocktails, etc. The staff was great with our children and our lingustic deficiencies. The air conditioning was not functioning and the rooms were simply too hot (this was remedied during our stay). The breakfast (included) was a bit sparse.
It is the furthest hotel out on the peninsula, so you have a nice view of the lake and olive grooves from the balcony without too many buildings in the way. There was a fan noice at daytime, thankfully not at night, possibly from a restaurant, that was irritating and sounded like being in a boat. To get to hotels in sirmione by car you need to navigate through the narrow old town treets filled with pedestrians. Cars are not allowed to drive 21 - 23. In hindsight would recomend people to take a nice B&B in some litle village, and just visit Sirmione for an hour or so.
The views are amazing. Pool lovely though cold. Once there good location to explore Sirmione. Good selection of eating places. Very friendly English speaking receptionist. Very quiet, no lack of space by pool etc. The drive through the castle and narrow streets is a bit daunting and would be anoying if you wanted to drive out regularly. Pillows very hard but were changed on request. No one eats in the hotel lunch or evening which is a shame as reduces the atmosphere. Very quiet.
